I’ve heard that there are people who dislike Christmas shops. I’m not sure I’ve ever met one though. If you like Christmas shops and you’ve never been to “Tis the Season,” Ohio’s largest Christmas store, it’s well worth making a day trip to northeast Ohio’s Amish country to check it out.

I never get tired of visiting here. Walk in and you are immersed in Christmas. Lights twinkle, glittered balls sparkle, trees are dressed in every imaginable theme — snowman trees, woodland trees, Grinch trees, Red and White Candy Cane trees… Adjoining rooms are filled with ornaments, nutcrackers, snow globes, holiday dishes, garlands, and more in this wonderland that covers three floors. This is the kind of place you will want to walk through twice just to see all the things you missed on your first time through!
Although the top two floors might overwhelm you, don’t let this make you miss the basement level where you will find many heirloom quality ornaments including Jim Shore, Old World, Shiny Brite, and Christopher Radko. The basement is also where you can purchase trees and lights.

Plan to spend 1-2 hours browsing. This is not a place for bargains (unless you visit the after Christmas sale) but you will find anything you want here. If nothing else, you will at least get some great decorating ideas!

I always visit on a weekday. Weekends, especially during holiday season, can be packed.
A craft market and an antique market are right next door. Nearby towns are filled with all kinds of shops—enough to keep you busy for a week!
“Tis the Season” is located at 4363 OH-39, Millersburg, OH 44654.
